Book cover design is needed for book titled "Brownfields." The book is the story about a corrupt corporation (Dolly's Dollar Store) taking advantage of workers in the city of Allentown, PA. The scrappy residents of one neighborhood are ready for a fight against the corporate powers but are dealing with literal and spiritual brownfields. An old battery factory had received the E.P.A. designation of “brownfield” and is finally going to be redeveloped, but it's not clear if the new construction will help or hinder the neighborhood. People are dealing with brownfields and barriers in their everyday lives - addictions and issues that are keeping them from being redeveloped. "Brownfields" shows people overcoming blockages by coming together as a community, all for the common good!
Designers could use the images of Allentown row homes or abandoned factories with a flower blooming within. A rusted out door or crumbling bricks could be pictured, with some sort of hopeful image added to it (ray of sun, bright-looking bird, flowering plants, etc.)
The book is about people transforming their rusted out lives to live more meaningfully!
I trust the creative process and am confident that designs will be interesting and eye-catching.
