We sell chess books on amazon, that are very popular. The chess books are available in kindle format and paperback. The books are designed to help players improve their chess game by solving chess puzzles.
What's your vision?
This will be the cover page for a kindle book filled with chess tactics problems. We have two books out already, Tactics Time, and Tactics Time 2, which you can see on amazon. This is designed to be a free book that we give away as a "loss leader" to get people interested in the paid book. But we want it to look like a quality book (which it is). Title: Tactics Time Zero! Subtitle: 250 Chess Tactics from the Real Games of Everyday Chess Players (Like You!) Authors: Tim Brennan and Anthea Carson What the book's about - a collection of 250 new and original chess positions all taken from the real games of amateur chess players. One page will have a diagram picture of a chess board with one side to move, and find the winning move. The next page has the answer to that problem. Then it repeats with a new problem. The objective is that by solving these problems, chess players can improve their skill level, and win more games, and get a higher chess rating. Key words: Chess, Chess Tactics, Chess Improvement, Chess Puzzles, Chess Problems, Checkmates Target demographic: Chess players, who tend to be 95% men, mostly over the age of 50 or are children under the age of 18. The promise of the book: By solving the problems in this book chess players will get better at their ability to find chess tactics, which is finding the best (winning) move in a position. The book provides chess positions that have happened in real chess games. What emotion I want the book browser to feel when the see the cover: A sense of excitement and wow that looks professional and impressive - if the cover is that good, the book must be awesome. Many chess books have really weak homemade and cheesey covers that look like amateur hour. Make the reader want to know more about the book after a 5 second glance Specs: From amazon: Requirements for the size of your cover art: • Minimum of 1000 pixels on the longest side • Ideal height/width ratio of 1.6 For better quality, we recommend that images be 2500 pixels on the longest side. Kindle Direct Publishing accepts two types of files for cover images: JPEG, or .jpeg TIFF, or .tif(f) Color Product images display on the Amazon website using RGB (red, green, blue) color mode. RGB is the color mode native to the web and many color screen displays, as these three colors displayed at varying levels of intensity create over 16 million colors. Use color images whenever possible and relevant. The Kindle reading device has a black and white screen today but Kindle applications for other devices, such as iPhone or PC, take advantage of color fonts and images. Borders for White Cover Art Cover art with white or very light backgrounds can seem to disappear against the white background. Adding a very narrow (3-4 pixel) border in medium gray will define the boundaries of the cover. Must be noticeable and "pop" at postage stamp size 7/8" by 1" Make sure the title can be read clearly. Sacrifice the readability of the subtitle if needed. Use images that are crisply delineated Use bold fonts that make the headline instantly readable Use simple images The title should be legible on a small scale. The cover should make someone want to know more about the book based on a 5 second glance

Communication went great, changes were always made within 24 hours and I love the creative spirit of this designer. I just had a general idea of what I wanted, but somehow the end result was exactly what I had in mind! Very, very happy with the end result.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
