Help Writer with a new book or magazine cover

Hi to all. I am in a need of a book cover. It is a novel and the name of the book is pretty simple, ''Details''. (it isn't written in English but we will talk about that later on.)

Now, this may sound a bit strange, but.. It doesn't really matter what the book is about since i want the cover to reflect its name rather than the writing itself. Reason for this is that that the word ''Details'' has numerous meanings in this book of mine.

The book itself is a bit mysterious and can't really be constituted as any ONE genre, instead it has motives of numerous genres which work in a progressive fashion. Small clues in the form of details are given throughout the book and are all connected to its ending and since they are all masked really well i would like to avoid their use in the cover because i believe it would be silly to paint the solution on the covers because readers would fixate on it and wouldn't pay enough attention to other stuff.

I hope i haven't confused you to much with this. We will now proceed with other details (no pun intended)

-The book isn't written in the present, modern day. There is no mention of any time/year for that matter, but the feeling of the book is in the past. To be clear here, there are no sports cars in the book, no gadgets, no Iphones, no tweeters, no facebooks or anything like that.. Instead, it is a time of gramophones, pipes, pocket watches and cigarette cases.

-I wish that the entire cover is one ''picture'', so there won't be the usual ''about the book, book reviews and my picture'' on the back side. That being said, the front side of the cover has to be the ''MASTER'' and the back should be the ''slave''. My first though was that the back side should have a pocket watch which is opened but is without the usual numbers and needles, instead its ''metal gut'' is showed, you know, the mechanism BUT THIS IS NOT A RULE, far from it!  

-The overall appearance of the cover should have a ''mysterious feel''. What i mean by this is-it shouldn't be the usual simple, smooth, sterile look. Instead, it should provoke positive emotions, you know like holding a map to a big treasure, of having something that is really valuable and that other people know nothing about. The feeling of holding a great mystery in your hands, something that will mesmerize and beg to be read. I wish the cover to whisper ''read me'' to the potential readers, that kind of feeling!

-The name of the author and the book should also be done in a more artistic way,one which follows the general feeling and surely not some default Times New Roman font. For the time being i would like that the authors name be just that, ''Authors Name'' and the title should be ''Details''. I will than give my true name to the winning designer, don't worry, its nothing to funky :)

-Format of the book is A5, that's:
Width 5.83''
Height 8.27''

That is about all i can say for this time. I hope designers with vivid imagination will apply for this design and give their best try. Will stay in touch and pay close attention and add any relevant informations.

I know i might be asking to much for 299$, but i am afraid my budget can't handle anything bigger than that..

EDIT: Cover for print is my priority but i would gladly discuss the possibility of also creating an E-Book version with the winner of the contest! :) 

EDIT #2: The pocket watch with the mechanism showing on the back side is NOT a demand, far from it! 

EDIT #3: Read comments and feedbacks from other designers to get a clearer picture. 

EDIT #4: Okay, i think i should be more specific. First, i need this cover for print, so front cover, back cover and spine is needed. Second it has to be really intriguing, i don't know what exactly i am looking for but it is not a picture of a big watch, or a piece of paper on which the word ''Details'' is written. 

-There will be NO  about the author/book writings in the back of the page so please don't post works that include that. 

-So far only one designer seems to understand what i am going after (JSdesignz) he did a very strange and interesting concept and still has room to improve. I hope others will follow his example in the form of creativity.
