Renee Dugan is an Indiana-based YA/NA author who grew up reading fantasy books, chasing stray cats, and writing stories full of dashing heroes and evil masterminds. Now with over a decade of professional editing, administrative work, and writing every spare second under her belt, she has authored THE CHAOS CIRCUS, a portal fantasy novel, and THE STARCHASER SAGA, an epic high fantasy series. Living with her husband, son, and not-so-stray cats in the magical Midwest, she continues to explore new worlds and spends her time in this one encouraging and helping other writers on their journey to fulfilling their dreams.
A Princess. An Outlaw. An Alliance That Will Change Everything. Cistine Novacek was content with a quiet life of books and tea - before her father's secret war council. What began with a threat of war becomes a saga unfolding - a princess discovering her warrior's spirit, her queenly destiny, and the truth of who she is. Across a lovely and dangerous land where beasts and dragons roam and the young legends are as cruel as the old, Cistine and her allies wage battle against ruthless foes seeking to rule everything they hold dear. The adventure has just begun.

Book cover type
Looking for an ornate fantasy cover, be it light and pretty or dark and grungy. I'd like to avoid having people on the cover since they're present on the original cover, but motifs like stars, crowns, shadows/smoke, ravens, weapons, could be incorporated to reflect the themes of the book. And I'm willing to try a range of colors.
What to avoid
No people on the cover. *previous brief said no blue, but we are open to seeing blue palettes as well!
