I need album art work for an upcoming single. The title of the single is "Back Pocket". I wrote this song when I saw a homeless guy in Sydney and wondered what he was thinking as he watched me walk by. Maybe a past life, past love. You can hear a sketchy version of the song (live) here: http://youtu.be/tzR65hQG5lc
I'd like an illustrated artwork for this. Something edgy / grungy in muted colours, or even a black and white sketch. I'll leave it up to your creativity, but one suggestion that's come to mind is a homeless guy with a sign that says:
Alex GibsonBack Pocket
I really like the idea of having the 'dark image' but then juxtaposing it with the optimism that everything will be fine. The song is open to interpretation of course. I am more than happy for artists/designers to submit ideas that emphasise their take of the song. I think the lyrics can relate to different situations. In my head the song is about a person who has nothing, a person with a sense of optimism that even though their circumstances are dire, they will be ok. It also reflects that when life's not going too well you can always reflect on your memories (past love, growing up).
The only real constraint is that is has to have my name:
...and the song title:
It's for Amazon and iTunes cover artwork, so it needs to be 1600 x 1600 (Amazon) and 600 x 600 (iTunes).
