Adorama got their new illustration or graphics by running a design contest:
Reproduce camera graphic with lighter, cleaner illustration

We are an electronic retailer focused on photography and education, with a strong focus on social interaction and strong customer service. This current project involves developing a microsite that delivers the information and content in a easily digestible and visually appealing way that generates more interest than a stale product page would.
What's your vision?
We are producing a camera overview page for the new Sony a7 lineup, and need to reproduce a graphic they provided. Their graphic is too dark, heavy and computer generated. Reference: 5-Axis SteadyShot Inside graphic. This is what you're reproducing. This illustration depicts the sensor's 5-axis stabilization. We'd like to see a lighter design, incorporating vector lineart. We envision this having thin evenly weighted lines, with body outline being slightly thicker than inside lines. Possibly depict the body with a light gray fill. The "guts" of the camera are not important to depict but the sensor is. This ideally keeps the same color gradation, purple-bluish-greenish with a couple lines around the perimeter to indicate it's a sensor. The 5-axis' should still be illustrated with the colored curves and arrows but should stick to one color here - maybe blue? Include labels for each of the 5-axis': X Axis Y Axis Roll Yaw Pitch We'll be using Proxima Nova (normal and thin) for the page, but alternatives can be used if that's not available.
Please include the Sony and sony alpha (α) logo in the same position where they are in the current image. Alpha logo will be white, not orange. If it's not too busy, we'd also like to see the Zeiss logo, but only if it feels right.

And then… they selected a winner!
We requested a series of advertising images for a range of products and Amabasnista worked with us to deliver an excellent selection that we are very happy with. It is great to find a designer who wasn't satisfied with the results until we were and who welcomed our feedback and produced a wonderful variety of images for us to choose from. We really enjoyed working with her and look forward to continuing our relationship with future projects.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
