Dr. Ogi Ogas got their new infographic by running a design contest:
Simple Infographics for popular nonfiction book; winner will also get other design jobs.
Check out Dr. Ogi Ogas's Infographic contest…
Story to tell in the infographic
We need six infographics for our book. We want to offer the platinum amount ($2499), but since each infographic is fairly simple, we will hold our contest on infographic #1 ("Individual-Group"), and then expect the winner to also design five other infographics as part of the $2499. (We have samples of five other book infographics needs so you can judge their complexity for yourself.) For Infographic #1 (the contest infographic), it should depict a two-way relationship between the INDIVIDUAL and the GROUP. The GROUP should be located vertically above the INDIVIDUAL, and there should be some representation of some kind of arrow, or directional symbol, pointing up from the INDIVIDUAL to the GROUP, and down from the GROUP to the INDIVIDUAL. The individual can be an abstract unit, like a sphere, and the group can be a collection of identical abstract units, but WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOME INTERESTING AND IMPACTFUL WAY OF VISUALLY REPRESENTING "ONE" and "A GROUP OF ONES." At the group level, there should also be some representation of the AVERAGE of the group. The infographic should contain the words “individual”, “group”, and “average.” Please see attached image for a conceptual graphic to guide you, but don't let it limit your creativity! The most important design qualities we are looking for are CLARITY and DISTINCTIVENESS. The infographic should be compelling in both COLOR and BLACK AND WHITE, since it will printed in a relatively low resolution black-and-white format in the book, but also used online.
Data to include in the infographic
There should be some kind of representation of the AVERAGE at the group level. (See INFOGRAPHIC.1.png sample image.)
Elements to include in the infographic
The infographic should contain the words “individual”, “group”, and “average.”
We are looking for a long-term relationship. We intend to hire the winning designer to create other infographic designs for us with a consistent look and feel (in addition to the six infographics in this contest). Thus, we want the designer's visual style to serve as a type of branding for our book and for our non-profit organization. NOTE: We have also included sample images for other infographics. The winning designer should also design five other fairly simple infographics as part of the $2499 we are offering for the contest, but WE ARE GOING TO JUDGE THE CONTEST SOLELY ON INFOGRAPHIC #1 so please only submit a design for the INDIVIDUAL-GROUP infographic described above. Thank you!
