Games & Recreational
Tycoon is a World of Warcraft addon that helps gamers make gold in the game.
I’m looking to take my landing page design to a higher level. The challenge of my project is going to create something that appeals to gamers. They love the combination of clean with sexy. Two of the best gaming software landing pages I’ve seen is Curse and Discord. I think these are great examples to take inspiration from.
Elements to include in the landing page
You'll find my suggestions for the images in the Sales Copy document. But feel free to be as creative as you want. There are no restrictions. The biggest obstacle of this project is that you can't use World of Warcraft images. I think the winner of this contest will likely be someone who finds a way around this. Some ideas i've seen are people using elements that look like it could be from World of Warcraft, but isn't. This includes stuff like treasure, gold coins, wizard hats, potions, swords/shields (weapons). It's important to make them look cartoony just like WoW. Realistic won't work.
DESIRED OUTCOME Do your best with accomplishing the following: #1 Trustability and Likability – My market is quite skeptical about products such as mine due to a lot of keyloggers and viruses being found in addons. There is also a bit of a taboo attached to selling addons. It’s looked down upon. So, trustability and likability is a big factor in the design. They should know we're not bad guys. I think 90% of this can be achieved by just having a professional clean looking design. But besides for that, I think using images and graphics that give off a ‘friendly’ feeling can also help. #2 Cool – My gamer audience is definitely not afraid of a little extra sexiness. When they see the design I want them to say, “Oo, that’s pretty cool”. And by cool, I don’t mean explosions and fireworks. Personally, I find things to be cool when something is creative, unique, and slightly different from everything else. DISCLAIMER Unfortunately, Blizzard will not allow us to use any images of their characters due to copyright reasons. However, they don’t seem to mind if people use environmental images of the game. EXTRA CREDIT Creating beautiful custom images/graphics is going to be a big plus rather than using stock stuff.
