Connection Through Expression

Throughout history the Arts have been a powerful catalyst for change.
A powerful catalyst for healing.
A powerful catalyst for galvanizing, for rising above, for speaking truth to power, for breaking through, for breaking free.
The Arts have inspired, deepened, awakened, emboldened and connected individuals and communities.
The Arts have changed the world through gentle, productive, peaceful, evocative, ground breaking expression.
We are an ARTS CATALYST.

Through the mediums of songwriting/recording, spoken word, movement, drama, visual arts, T H R E A D uses the Arts as an individual and collective therapeutic tool.
The work we did with the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, was deeply moving, transformational and clearly necessary. One of the most pressing things we learned is that this work needs a broader reach…particularly in communities affected by TRAUMA as well as within the Social Activism movements that have arisen as a result.

We have set out to establish T H R E A D, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization as a response to the rising need for Healing Through the Arts.

T H R E A D will be able to partner with humanitarian and philanthropic organizations to bring this work into crisis scenarios (akin to Doctors Without Borders) throughout the world, in addition to finding powerful entry points into national and global movements such as #MeToo, Everytown, Black Lives Matter, March For Our Lives and One Billion Rising. This work will also be expanded to help veterans, those affected by addiction, abuse, inequality and incarceration.

This work is limitless…and deserves to become a national conversation.

With the mounting individual and collective trauma many are feeling in response to our world currently, T H R E A D and its dedication to facilitate Healing Through The Arts could not be any more urgently needed than it is now.

The first attachment is our current working logo. The second attachment is imagery we would like to include as well. The concentric are too many but we very much like the idea that each circle itself is not uniform in it's lightness/darkness. We also like the idea that the space between the circles is not uniform. The meaning of the concentric circles is: the center is the INDIVIDUAL PERSON and through the creative process of sharing their STORY connects to and IMPACTS larger and larger circles of community. We do think the circles need to be complete circles. However, as mentioned above, the circles themselves can have variation in heaviness/width/texture of line.
