Games & Recreational
We are a group of gamers who meet up around Melbourne City centre every fortnight to play modern board games. The target audience should be anyone looking to play board games in Melbourne, especially around the city area, and should be open to men and women of all ages.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Let designers make suggestions:
The ideas I would like the logo to put across are: (a) We play modern board games. E.g. NOT video games, NOT classic games like monopoly and scrabble. One obvious way to do this would be to include a "Meeple" on the logo - which is a classic gaming piece used in a few modern board games. I would be interested in designs that can do this in other ways though - many people use meeples, so having something original would be great too. (b) We meet near to Melbourne CBD (City Centre). There are a few games groups in Melbourne, so one of the things we do to differentiate is to ensure we are hosted close to the center. Hence "City Games Club". So something with a city theme might help express this. (c) whilst the full title of the group will be Cardboard City Games Club, the "Cardboard City" is the short name of the group, so design options could emphasise these words, and leave "Games Club" in a smaller / less prominent fashion Overall, I'm hoping for something that looks fun, suggests a welcoming, light-hearted group of games players, welcoming to newcomers to the hobby. Colour logos are great, but having something that will print well in black and white as well would be a bonus, as often we will use this logo in newsletters / flyers, and these may not be printed in colour. On our website we would, of course, use the colour version. I have posted a few images of Melbourne City icons and a few modern board games, to give some extra information to help designs. None of these ideas are set in stone though ! https://www.pinterest.com/benturner/cardboard-city-games-club/
