DMEC
~Overall Description of DMEC~
The Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) is the only association dedicated to knowledge, education, and professional networking in integrated disability, absence management, and Return to Work solutions. DMEC and its network of local chapters provide companies with trusted information, strategies, tools, and management resources to minimize lost work time and improve workforce productivity. Over the past 20 years, DMEC has grown from a West Coast-based association to a national association and has aspirations of one day becoming an international association; our logo and identity need to reflect this national/ international scope. Web site: http://www.dmec.org.
~Audience~
Our membership is composed of companies that employ thousands of workers who understand the significant costs caused by workplace absence and the need to minimize lost work time by safely returning employees to active employment as soon as medically feasible. We currently have over 400 member companies collectively representing over 5 million employees. Our audience consists primarily of Human Resources, Employee Benefits, and Risk Management professionals from all major industries. The majority of our audience are mature professional females with at least a 4-year college education. They often enter their field to help others resolve complicated issues. They frequently are the only person in their company who works in disability management and thus struggle with a sense of identity and isolation (“No one understands what I do.”).
