Nathan BC got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create an Energy Board Game Logo
Check out Nathan BC's Logo design contest…
Games & Recreational
This will be the logo on a board game. It's a game that puts all of the world's energy industries together and you have to find a way to generate enough energy to avoid the coming energy crisis, but to do so in an environmentally conscious manner. All the stats in the game are based on real-life, so it provides for some interesting gameplay. The game will target gamers that regularly purchase more higher-end board games for $50+. Age of players will be ages 14 and up. Majority of customers will be in the US, but many are elsewhere, as well.
Logo types to explore
I'm attaching a file that shows the current logo. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE NEW LOGO HAS TO LOOK LIKE THIS. We want to completely revamp the look and feel. I mostly just want to show how we stylized the "e-" in the logo (see here for why: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron ). That is one of only three requirements for the layout. The second is that the logo must be more horizontal, rather than vertical or square. This is how pretty much every game logo is oriented (see links below). The third and final requirement is that the logo must stand out--but still look nice--when placed on top of virtually any background. We DON'T necessarily want to copy the look of these logos, but here are some links of what we feel like are effective board game logos for placing on any background, and how they embody the theme of their respective games: - http://www.geeksofdoom.com/GoD/img/2014/01/dungeons-and-dragons-logo.png - https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/9/92/Dominion_(Spiel)_Logo.gif - https://boardgamegeek.com/image/2405298/lords-xidit Again, don't use the attached image as a guide of what we want. Be creative! Make people excited when they see the logo and want to play our game! Energy is such a hot-topic right now, so let's make a logo to match :) The board will be done similar to the following link, but more modern and less fantasy: http://naiiade.deviantart.com/art/Lords-Of-Xidit-BoardGame-477205513 Feel free to incorporate anything you wish into the logo, as long as it looks good in full-color, and B&W.
