Livingston Youth & Family Together (LYFT) was established to empower young people in their fight against substance misuse and abuse. The logo will set the tone for the organization’s website and print collateral. The logo should be designed to be relevant to middle school and high school kids. It will need to have enough weight that it would work great as vinyl stickers and placed on various garments. It needs to look cool - think logos for skate board companies and titles on popular CD covers. The client requires the acronym to be large, but the fully written name to be included and easily readable.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty. Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth. Let designers make suggestions:
While the present logo looks like something stuck in the '90s, the client wants an arrow, or even a group of arrows, to be a key design element. Also, I'm leaning towards using the Bebas font family on the website and printed materials.... However, the arrow(s) doesn't need to be anything like the one used in the original logo. The present one is kinda static - I want to see movement. Moreover, this initial logo hasn't been in use - it was something that a volunteer put together and it kinda sucks. I'm of the opinion that we need a fresh direction. The second logo is one for a similar organization - we need something more like this - probably better - in terms of energy and relevancy to youth. I want the kids to see the logo - and campaign - as something that is cool and might want to stick a sticker of the logo on their computer, notebook, etc. Lastly, I've found several logos online that I feel has the weight, energy and feel that I like.
