Animal & Pet
My husband is a professional dog trainer who focuses on obedience, gun dog and upland training for waterfowl, dove and phesant hunting. He provides owners with a companion he or she can trust in real life hunting situations. He also handles his own retrievers as well as his clients in many UKC, AKC and Super Retriever Series events allowing the dogs to earn a strong reputation for his or her abilities along with titles to add to pedigrees.
Logo types to explore
We are looking for a logo for our dog training business. My husband trains mostly Retrievers and Pointers. The love of training comes from his duck hunting passion. He is originally from North Louisiana and has a duck camp he frequents in the winter with our dogs and his clients' dogs. We want a logo that is different from many of the ones we see for professional trainers. They all seem to be similar and we want one that is recognizable and up to date. They mostly contain art or images of Retrievers and ducks which we are all about. We just need a different way of incorporating these ideas. We don't want anything childish or cartoon-like. We want it to look professional and not too busy, but at the same time incorporate the feel of the outdoors. Also the name Twin Rivers comes from our location where the Black Warrior River flows into the Tombigbee River. Some ideas we've discussed: -Using two rivers as part of the logo -Combining the letters TRK somehow -Of course ducks and or Labradors (black or brown) or anything that goes with that but things that I haven't seen used as much are duck feathers (except for Mack's Pairie Wings), lanyards and duck calls, and my favorite that I haven't seen on any logo is a duck band. All hunters collect these. They are a prized possession. They usually cinch them around their lanyards. It would be cool to see one attached to the business name somehow either with or without a lanyard. We would like for this logo to be used on our website that we're building, business cards, tshirts, hats and decals for vehicles so just keep that in mind. We are not set on any of the ideas mentioned. We just want a logo that says "I want him to train my dog." Also we want art and lettering to be incorporated with each other if possible. I'm posting a pinterest link of logos we like. They are all different styles and may not help but the whole family is very excited to see what you design. http://pinterest.com/rpsimmons/logos/ Here is a link to one design that is similar to many in the same industry that we are trying to avoid. http://www.hightest.com Below is a link to an article written about him a few years ago that may help. http://www.westalabamawatchman.com/local-man-shines-at-master-nationals/ UPDATE: I would really like to stay away from anything too modern. It must incorporate ducks somehow - I really like the idea of a feather (mallard drake tail feather) instead of an actual duck. I also would like to see a duck band somewhere in the logo. I want the font to be more masculine than feminine. Stay away from script unless it is combined with the other as an accent. I'm also not opposed to having a block outline font with artwork inside the font. I am looking for something that portrays what he does without using a full hunting scene. Elements of his profession mixed with a font that says he is professional but masculine. Avoid the cheaper looking fonts.
