Logo types to explore
Based on recent advice that I have received from my web designer and my print provider, I have a much more specific focus for the type of design that I want. Let’s start from scratch regarding this focus for this design… To clarify, my company specializes in providing private safe deposit boxes and customized storage spaces for my customers, so it’s important for me to have a design image that conveys a sense of strength, security and privacy because they are storing highly valuable (and often priceless) possessions in my vaults. I want my design to convey a quiet sense of confidence; my company knows we specialize in a “clandestine” sort of service, so don’t want to (or have to) draw extra attention to ourselves.. and that we know we're good at what we do. CENTER PIECE OF THE DESIGN: I want the center piece of my design to resemble a vault door. I have provided a link here for examples of vault door images that I like – it’s a link to my lightbox in my istock photo account: http://www.istockphoto.com/search/lightbox/15135084#d89e5a5 I am no longer seeking a design with a "coin-style" type of design. I’ve also added a couple of “Vault Door” and “Vault Wheel” images to the design brief for your reference. If you’re looking for some more “inspiration,” a simple Google search or istockphoto.com search for “vault doors” or “vault door wheels” should help. In the lightbox above, you should be able to see 17 different vault door images. From these images, you will see that most of these images contain a “wheel-shaped” vault door, usually located somewhere near the middle of the image. I want to see an image that incorporates the “wheel” as the center piece of my image. You can “build out” from the wheel (even including a full-scale vault door), but I want to see a wheel as the “focal point,” even if it’s off-centered in the image you create. DO NOT WANT COMPLICATED DETAILS: To be even more specific – I don’t want to (or need to) see a lot of the little “details” of the vault doors. So for example, if you want to create a design that includes a round number combo in the vault door – I’d be okay with the combo itself, but I don’t need to see all the little “nitches” that represent the numbers as they wrap around the combo. Also, if you want to create an image with several of the little “nuts and bolts” that comprise many of these images – it’s okay to incorporate the bolts, but I don’t need to see the fine details of the bolts themselves. If you need more examples or if you need clarification about this, please send me a message. IT’S ALSO VERY IMPORTANT that this center piece design does NOT immediately resemble a ship’s wheel (think “Pirates of the Caribbean” here, like an old pirate ship wheel – that’s what I want to AVOID). SIMPLE AND/OR ABSTRACT PREFERRED, WITH AN SENSE OF LUXURY: In addition – I’m looking for the design to have a simple or abstract nature. I have provided 1 pdf file titled “Logo (Prototype) - Green with Vault Hitch” as an example of how simple I want to go. Please focus only on the vault image on the left hand side of that file for reference. I have also provided several images of automaker/car-brand logos, because this is the level of “simplicity” that I am looking for. Truthfully - I’d like to have a logo that is simple enough that you could place it as the hood emblem for a car and it would look stylish. For some reason, I really like the logos the most for Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Lexus and VW (especially the BMW and VW logos) – can you incorporate a similar, “luxury” feel to any of these logos? The other request I'd like for you to keep in mind is that this design will also be incorporated onto a large retail/shopping center sign above my front door entrance , so it needs to look good as a retail storefront sign (including the text of the company name). COLOR SCHEME FOR CENTER PIECE OF THE DESIGN: I have not changed from the current request – please refer to the image titled “NY License Plate 1” for reference. My company’s “third” and tertiary color is white, so I’m okay with 3 colors in the logo (yellow/blue/white). PLEASE do not use any other color schemes – yellow, blue (and white) only. WEB SITE COMPATABILITY: Please make sure that the size of the design is appropriate - it will be visible on the heading of my web site – here’s the link again for your reference, so you can compare it/screen shot it to the web site: http://test.stonedesigns.net/ TEXT FOR COMPANY NAME: I am flexible on the location of the company name, but I think I would prefer that you locate it to the right-hand side of the primary design. I would be open to seeing designs where you have the word “Commonwealth” on one side of the design, and the words “Vault & Safe Deposit Box Co.” on the other side. I’ve provided some images here in the design brief titled “Company Text 1, Company Text 2, etc” to use as a reference for what I like. COLOR SCHEME FOR TEXT: I think I want the color of the text for the entire company name to be the same consistent color. I don’t have a preference on what the color is, but I don’t think I want to see different colors incorporated into the text of the company name. WEB SITE COMPATABILITY: Please make sure that the size of the text is large enough (or more specifically - make sure it is sized "appropriately") so that it will be visible on the heading of my web site – here’s the link again for your reference, so you can compare it/screen shot it to the web site: http://test.stonedesigns.net/ I hope this brief is much more helpful than my original notes. Please message me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your previous submissions – I’ve been very pleased with the quality of all designs submitted! I look forward to your future designs.
