FYI: I am seeing a lot of shock absorbers so I want to clarify at the top here that Shocks absorbers are not Suspensions. Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows relative motion between the two. Shock absorber - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_absorber Suspension - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_(vehicle) ******* TTS is an e-commerce platform and automotive parts business that specializes in selling performance, off-road, suspension parts and accessories for jeeps and trucks. Client Top Tier Suspensions (TTS) Domain: https://toptiersuspensions.com/ Top Tier Suspensions (TTS) specializes in top-quality off-road parts - suspensions for jeeps and trucks (dodge, ford, chevy etc.) TTS is also an aftermarket e-commerce store to compliment its main specialty (performance, off road and suspensions) Business Category Automotive > Automotive Parts and Accessories > After Market Parts Deliverables: A brand style guide and a combination mark (Logotypes and Wordmarks) for Top Tier Suspensions TTS business and brand is synonymous with off-road, performance, top quality products and parts, top tier performance and racing. Logo Variations and Sub brands TTS envisions a brand identity and logo that can be used in variations while emphasizing the words “ Top Tier”. 1. Primary: Top Tier Suspensions - This is the main logo that I would like you to design however, I want to share that we want to be able to add variations as below… Top Tier + Suspensions – PRIMARY logo The primary logo should be modifiable to the below variations or sub brands • Top Tier Racing • Top Tier Distributions • Top Tier Off Road • Top Tier Diesel Preferred logo types is Combination Mark (Logomark and Wordmark) Color preference (if any) - White, Orange, electric blue, black Performance in general can be easily associated with racing, power, and speed and yes, it is, however, it is important not to overlook efficiency and quality of parts and products Considerations 1. When you search for logos that have to do with off road performance, there is a common theme that always use flags, tires, mountains, and trails. These are overused and some look similar but there is always room for creativity if you decide to go this route. 2. Some confuse shock absorbers to be suspensions. Shock absorber - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_absorber Suspension - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_(vehicle) Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows relative motion between the two. Suspension systems must support both road holding/handling and ride quality, which are at odds with each other. Suspension is a system How suspensions works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKql4Is8Pas Harmony between roads and tires is provided by the car’s suspension system. Suspension provides the smooth ride whenever a car is travelling through a bumpy road. Suspension is the system of chasis, steering, shock absorbers and tires Two types of suspensions dependent (force affecting one wheel affects the other) or independent (both wheels can move independently vertically up and down) Suspensions classified based on their designs MacPherson Strut Push Rode suspension Solid Axle beam suspension Lead spring suspension Wishbone suspension system Double wishbone suspension Drive shaft Straight rod Steering rack wide springs flexible bars hydraulic springs but nothing better than the wishbone suspension system which replicates a bird’s wishbone The above gets a little technical and good to know but we are looking for something very creative. Little bow wao bounce with me song - 3. Function of a suspension system a. Maximize friction between tires and road surface during acceleration, cruising and breaking b. Provide steering stability with good handling c. Ensure comfort of passenger 4. Newtons low of forces says forces have both magnitude and direction. A bump on the road causes a wheel to move up and down perpendicular to the roads surface. Magnitude depends on whether the wheel is striking a giant bump or a tiny bump allowing the frame and body to drive undisturbed as the wheel encounters bumps on the road. Need a system that absorbs the energy of the vertically accelerated wheel allowing the frame and body to drive undisturbed as the wheel follows bumps on the road. This is all part of vehicle dynamics Vehicle dynamics is the study of forces at work on a moving car. Auto engineers come at this form two perspectives: a. Ride – the car’s ability to smooth out a bumpy road b. Handling – car’s ability to safely accelerate, break and corner These break down into these principles: c. Road Isolation – The vehicle’s ability to absorb or isolate road shock from the passenger compartment d. Cornering – ability of a vehicle to travel a curved path e. Road Holding – the degree to which a car maintains contact with the road surface in various types of directional changes and in straight line. Dive – weight shifting from rear to front during breaking Squat – Opposite effect occurs during acceleration. Dive and squat are some of the challenges the suspension system has to handle Depended suspension – rigid axle binds the wheels Independent – wheel can move independent 3 fundamental components of any suspensions are: 1. Springs a. Leaf springs – layers of metal bound together to act as a single unit. Used on trucks and not many US cars since 85. Wishbone acts as alever (min 531).Common on European cars b. Coil springs – heavy duty coiled around axis i. Sprung muss – anything above the spring ii. Anything below the spring between the spring and road is unsprung mass spring stiffness affects how the sprung mass responds while the car is being driven. Loosely spring cars like luxury cars wallow bumps for smooth ride but are prone to squat Titghtly sprung cars are less forgiving on bumpy roads but minimize body motion and can be driven aggressively even around corners. 2. Dampers - Springs absorb energy but stink when it comes to dissipating it and that is why you need dampers. One common dampening structure is a shock absorber. Turn kinetic energy into heat energy that can be dissipated through hydraulic fluid Strut is a dampening structure – a shock absorber inside a spring McPhereson Strutt 3. Anti sway bars – A metal rod that spans the entire axle and joins each side of the suspension together. used with shock absorbers and struts to give a moving vehicle additional stability https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k0Gjre1QlY TTS Target Market and Audience The target market for a diesel performance shop is anyone who owns a light-duty diesel vehicle. This includes contractors who have a diesel pickup trucks, automotive enthusiasts who have diesel sports cars and everyday drivers who drive fuel-efficient diesel models. Some Keywords 1.
