How solewine started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
This in a design for an 'inhouse' project. The congregation will celebrate 100 years of the magnificent gothic-style facility in 2024 and 150 years of the congregation in 2025. Vision 2025 is our project for the next 8 years with 3 components: vital, progressive, growing discipleship; facility renovation and development; and legacy giving. We want something that has vibrancy and energy to it but can be rendered in color or B&W. We are an inclusive community and progressive in theology. This will be used on letterhead, folders, banners and other types of promotional and informational material.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
Our church website is http://www.fumcpasadena.org which can give you some idea about who we are now. When we worked on what we wanted the world outside to say about the the people of First United Methodist Church of Pasadena, California in 2025, these were the descriptors:
Christ-like servant disciples
Joyous and vibrant
Intergenerational, Inclusive, and Diverse
Generous, Sharing and Grateful
Full of hope and possibilities
A beacon for the community – using our facilities and as an incubator
Witnessing (through love and justice the Scripture)
We started with a strong design by our own staff with an outline of our iconic building but the concern was that it gave the impression that Vision 2025 was primarily about the building. It is not - it is about people - growing as disciples who seek justice, healing, renconciliation, change, etc.
