Our company Liquidata is adding Liquidity to the data market. We had 99Designs make a logo for us. It can be found at http://www.liquidata.co/Liquidata-m…go-RGB.png (with a white background). We love it. The drop signifies liquidity and we cut it to form the letters "L" and "D".
We are going to launch our first two products called "Dolt" and "DoltHub". The inspiration for these products are Git and GitHub but for data. The etymology of Git is that Linus Torvalds names things after himself and in a self-deprecating manner named Git (British slang for idiot) after himself. We are naming our services Dolt and DoltHub as an homage. Dolt also means idiot but it starts with D for data. Git's logo is https://git-scm.com/images/logos/do…-1788C.png. GitHub's logo is https://assets-cdn.github.com/image…b-Mark.png.
I'm thinking trying to get one logo that pays homage to all three logos: Liquidata's logo, Git's logo, or GitHub's logo. I would like to use the Liquidata color scheme. I'm pretty sure I do not want the Dolt or DoltHub name to be super-important to the logo. The logo will most often be displayed without the text. I like the uppercase Raleway font for any text in the logo but I could be convinced otherwise.
