Bill is first class, a great designer and extremely professional. All of his designs are bespoke artwork. He provided fantastic service both during and after the contest and listened to and implemented all of our suggestions. He was also very generous with his time, and was very knowledgeable and helpful with file formats etc. We would definitely use his services again and would happily recommend him. All the very best to Bill for a very long and successful career.
understood our need perfectly well, nailed it and conveyed with the logo exactly what we wanted!
I was very pleased with how the process worked and Ameng's willingness to make many changes that I suggested, even if some of my ideas weren't very good. Ameng's concept seemed much more original than other designers.

Great work! Was very pleased with Killer Draw's initiative in looking up my website to find out more about what I like, what my business is about, etc. so that he could incorporate that knowledge into his draft designs. He was the only designer out of ~40 different designers to do that! Needless to say, it worked for him...and for me given my new great logo design!
LEF was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process even in the handover phase. LEF went above and beyond providing the various file types and variations to ensure we received everything we wanted. It was great working with LEF!

Use him once you'll use him again. We are very happy with Adam's work. He has completed 2 projects for us.
How Mike Winston started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Winston (or Winston Capital Partners, LP)
What’s your company slogan?
I am undecided whether just Winston should be the logo, or the full firm name. I am leaning in the direction of just using the word Winston.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Winston Capital Partners is a hedge funded dedicated to value investing in the tradition of Warren Buffett. People work hard their entire lives and save - yet for the savings to be meaningful - they must be invested wisely and responsibly. We all know people who should be retired but must continue to work. We do our jobs at Winston Capital Partners with energy, discipline, integrity and instinct - so that those who invest with us enjoy a solid return, and can plan the future accordingly.
We've always tried to stay sane while others go crazy. That is a competitive advantage.
2013 Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
We don't have an edge in a lot of ways, but we do have an edge in not getting caught up in what others are doing.

Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
The Winston name is my family name, but it is also a well recognized consumer brand. It's use in a financial application is somewhat new. Other applications have included Harry Winston Diamonds, Winston Cigarettes, the Winston 500 NASCAR race. Winston Churchill the English prime minister may also come to mind. So, there is a very Anglo connotation to the name. It's hard to know whether I want a san serif sleek Winston logo, or something more 19th century British Empire (serif font - wooden ships and mystique). The main idea is that this new Winston financial brand should be editorial - bearing the brand impressions of the past in mind - and making more or less use of those images as the designer sees fit (the key is to consider them even if totally disregarded later). We want to suggest the modern skill set of investing paired with the stodgy conservatism of a different age. The logo has a job to do. If it does its job right, the customer sees the image - and all dialogue begins on the right emotional footing. The logo says, you can trust me, I know how this works out - and I'm here to help you with it - but without being touchy feeley. We represent something finer in the hedge fund industry. I'm not trying to sell images of fly fishing in one's golden years, but neither am I trying to project an image that behind closed doors the hedge fund looks like the movie tron. We are young firm with an old brand - modern skills paired with ancient wisdom. All of these comments may not be specifically relevant to the design - but it's what's in my head. Feel free to check out my linked in profile to get a sense of the person behind the company. Thanks! (also, there are have been a lot of giant versions of the letter 'W' so far. Please stay away from this, we're looking for an abstract object and then the word Winston, and or Winston Capital Partners, LP) Thanks!!
