EMPOWERED BY INNOVATION
Monotechnics is a start-up company that consists of code monkeys (programmers) and grease monkeys (car mechanics). The name Monotechnics is a combination of "Mono" which means monkey in Spanish and the word technics, which does not need much explanation :-) Our target audience is the automotive aftermarket and to be more specific the customers who want to modify their cars to be more powerful and to make the car look faster. We develop our own software for car engine tuning but we also develop other types of software. So software development is our core business and will be close moren than 50% of our revenue. We will do car diagnostics and optimise the motor management, chiptuning, but also customised engine tuning. We measure the performance of the car on our dyno and we make a short film that we will put on youtube. We will sell car parts for styling, think lowered suspension, chips, spoilers, bodykits, side skirts, wheels, ... a lot of the parts are from partners and well resell and install them. In the near future it is our plan to build release our own line of parts. We are talking about parts such as turbos, spoilers, ... We also provide professional car cleaning services and we sell car cleaning products and accessories. We are not a car wash, we are talking about professional detailing of the cars interior and exterior to make any car look like new. It is our goal for the near future to sell our own line of cleaning products and car cleaning accessories. We also provide car maintenance, repairs and we have restoration projects of oldtimers and youngtimers.. By the way: we are specialized in BMW. To illustrate what we do with an example: you purchased a BMW M4 and you come to us because although you love the car, you feel that something is missing and you want the car to have more torque and power and to look more agressive. We hook a computer to the car and with our custom build software we optimize the car's engine to make it more performant and more efficient. If you want more power we upgrade or replace other components such as the turbos, exhaust system, ... The car’s performance is measured on our dyno. If you want we install a nice set of 20" wheels, we lower your car, and install spoilers. Before you come and pick up your car we professionally clean the exterior, we remove scratches and swirls and seal the coating to make your car shine for a long period. We also clean the full interior and treat your leather seats.
We need a modern, minimalistic yet masculin logo. We need a logo that we can print on unusual surfaces like race chips, car cleaning accessories (buckets, foam cannons, .. ) The logo will also be printed on stickers, t-shirts and our work clothing. See the uploaded photos for references. When we tune or professionally detail cars we will each time make a video of it so the logo will be put on the walls and will appear in all our videos that will be put on youtube. Take a look at the examples we uploaded like the “HD” logo on the wall behind the red Lambo. There is also one with a yellow Ford GT from a competitor to give you an idea. Here is another example of a competitor: https://youtu.be/jOwoFaYRNbk And here is another one: https://youtu.be/QGo5CPhiH84 Keep it simple, it does not need to be abstract, sometimes the simplest of logos are the best. Could be that we will just be okay with a simple letter “M” in a sans-serif bold font in a thick-lined circle and the company name MONOTECHNICS in a nice extra bold sans-serif font. The font may be classic as well but it is up to you, we prefer a classic font such as Helvetica Neue instead of some techno/android/robotic typeface although we believe that there are some fonts that might work such as Dodger, Astera, Porscha, ... that we saw on dafont.com. Fonts such as Blade Runner are just to sci-fi. It needs to remain automotive like and like out of space. We have uploaded an example of a circuit letter A that we found online, it would be nice to see someone come up with a circuit letter M and it does not need to be complex, just a letter M but build as a circuit. This might even work without a circle, square or hexagon around it. If you do choose the route of an abstract logo we love the idea of a logo that uses the electrical symbol of a resistor because you can make out the letter “M” within the symbol, there is a reference of a ‘napkin’ drawing that we did to get a mental picture of what we mean. NOTE 1: in the first place we would like a simple, minimalistic, non-abstract logo, with thick lines as we believe that thin fine lines are going to be too feminin for our business. It needs to look good in a monochrome version. NOTE 2: please don't use "serif" fonts. They look outdated and we are trying to profile ourselves as a modern tech company targeting the automotive aftermarket. NOTE 3: Monotechnics preferrably written in capitals as MONOTECHNICS, and for a letter mark logo as "M" or “MT”. We have seen several designs where MONO was put in extra bold and TECHNICS not but that does not convince us, maybe it has to do with the chosen typeface but we would like see it as one word. NOTE 4: The logo has to look good on different coloured backgrounds such as black, white, red (car mechanics upper body work clothing combined with black pants), blue (optional work clothing for the devs and the electronics guys), … NOTE 5: when using colours for the mark don't use dark hue colours such as a dark blue hue, … when using colours such as black/gray that is another thing. Try to stick to vibrant colours but even just black and white would work like the example lettermark “HD” in a circle that we added. NOTE 6: We are not a 500, banking or insurance company. So please no gold or NOTE 7: I uploaded a photo of a red Lamborghini with the logo “HD” in the background. Our setup will be similar and each detailed car and performance run will be photographed and filmed and put on social media and our website, so our logo needs to be clearly visible on the wall and preferrably in a monochrome version. I also uploaded a photo of a blank foam cannon, which is used for car shampoo and to foam the car. It would be great if you could immediately show the logo concept design against the wall (preferrably monochrome version and our company name) and on the foam cannon (preferrably colour and large with or without our company name). How the logo looks online and on stickers, t-shirts and our car cleaning products is to us more important than a logo that looks good on a letterhead or business card. NOTE 8: please try to send us also a couple of designs for a circuit letter M. Thank you all and enjoy. May the best design win the contest!
