Eric19722025 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
LIFE International needs a new logo
Check out Eric19722025's Logo design contest…
We exist to multiply Christ-centered life-giving ministries wherever abortion exists or the sanctity of human life is diminished. Life issues that we deal with are abortion, human trafficking, sexual violence, infanticide, orphans, and the neglect of the elderly. We're a blast at parties. We train and equip church movement leaders around the world to understand and embrace the sanctity of human life so they can spread the message of life, via their ministries, to others who will then multiply the teaching in their regions. Audience is a bit tricky. We have a distinct US-based audience: our donors and partners. But then our primary target audience for the work that we do are "regular" people in countries all over the world. You will need to balance those two distinct, but important, audiences. Visit our website (www.lifeinternational.com) for more information. Do NOT use the website colors or design elements as fodder for the creative process.
Logo types to explore
There is a heavily integrated human-life aspect to everything we do, with a focus on abortion and the preborn child. However, we do NOT want the logo to show actual babies, pregnant women, etc. I understand the challenge here, to suggest mission without using any specific iconography. But we are broad in our range of services, so we don't want to be defined by any one "issue"--other than valuing human life. Be cautious with the use of globes. We are certainly not opposed to a "global" suggestion, but please no straight-up globes. Since the word "International" is in our name, that clearly identifies our area of work--no need to make it literal. Because we are a global organization, this logo MUST "speak" to a multi-cultural audience. Do not only consider US/Western tastes or perceptions. We are a Christian organization, and would be happy for the logo to identify that, but--as with the globes--be careful. A cross would be the most obvious element to include, which is why I'm a little wary of its use. It just feels so obvious. "Here's a globe, here's a cross, you're good to go." I'll leave it to you, but just be careful with any Christian imagery or iconography. Our name is general in scope and we are sometimes confused as an environment-focused organization. Please keep this in mind with imagery and color choices; we don't want people to look at our logo and think "earth." (We used to have a leaf in our logo, which created great confusion.) In terms of balance, and considering word length, while we don't want "International" to be an afterthought, I'm open to "LIFE" having prominence. In other words, we are not "Apple Inc." that is known to the world as "Apple." We want to be clearly known as "LIFE International," but aesthetically you can adjust the visual proportions to find an effective balance between the two words. A full range of color is acceptable (CMYK, two-color, etc.) for the primary logo, but we MUST be provided with a single-color version. "LIFE logo_black.jpg" is our current logo. "LIFE_logo.pdf" is a logo idea that we were fiddling around with. It represents the heart of what we do: pouring life into other people.
