Asylees as Authors
Believing in the value of higher education and literature, Asylees as Authors is a nonprofit organization granting college scholarships to asylees and refugees. Asylees are foreigners (and their foreign-born chidren) who are legally in the U.S. because they might be harmed in their home countries. The scholarships are awarded based on an annual short story contest.
This organization targets youn and ambitious foreign nationals. The look should be somehow exotic and cerebral. Think a PhD or MFA student from Latin America or India, not an American high school grad.
