kartben got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for Eclipse Kapua, an open source server platform for the Internet of Things
Check out kartben's Logo design contest…
We need a new logo for our open source software project related to Internet of Things technology: Eclipse Kapua (https://www.eclipse.org/kapua). Kapua is a word from the Maori language that means: "cloud, bank of clouds". Kapua is a server platform for IoT devices (the "things" of the "Internet of Things") and smart sensors. It helps securely manage and interact remotely with devices that are deployed on the field (the devices can be anything, from smart thermostats, to industrial equipment, to cars, …). Kapua focuses on providing comprehensive management of the devices, and allows real-time processing of data streams that can be archived for historical analysis or forwarded to enterprise IT systems and applications for further processing. The Kapua project is part of a larger ecosystem of open-source projects called “Eclipse IoT”. The Eclipse IoT website is available at http://iot.eclipse.org and the logo of Eclipse IoT is attached to the brief. While not mandatory, we encourage designers to provide logos that convey the idea of Kapua belonging to the Eclipse IoT brand. What’s more, Eclipse Kapua has a strong relationship with Eclipse Kura (an Eclipse IoT project, see https://eclipse.org/kura), a software framework for IoT Gateways. Eclipse Kapua natively manages gateways powered by Eclipse Kura. Here again, while not mandatory, we would appreciate concepts that are somewhat aligned/consistent with Eclipse Kura’s logo.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision. Purples: Imagination, spirituality, royalty and luxury. Let designers make suggestions:
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
kartben collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
