Strong Neighborhood Project
Healthy communities are no accident. They require citizen participation and ownership at a very local level. We build them by recognizing and building upon the abundance of relationships and strengths already present among their residents. This collective Impact grant is built upon seven “pillars” that comprise a healthy community:
✓ the quality of care provided by a community’s members for each other
✓ medical and mental health
✓ child wellbeing
✓ local economy
✓ the availability of quality food
✓ environmental health
✓ public safety and security
The website will be used to communicate our work and events in the community where we work-to the community members themselves. We are starting this project in 2 census tracts in Pineville, Louisiana-2 extremely low-income census tracts that have great potential. The logo and this project need to be cool and inspiring to the community. And the website will be used to share our work to our 2 major donors: the United Way of Central Louisiana and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation of Louisiana. We anticipate that the website, and our reports with the logo, will be visited by numerous universities and foundations looking to learn from our work.
I would suggest asking the artist to show you a gray scale option as you will want to be able to print in b&w on occasion. I would also ask to see business card, letterhead, vinyl banner and a t-shirt layouts in color and b&w, just to make sure there are no concerns about how this looks in multiple mediums.
