SB-ACT or ACT
School-Based Asthma Care for Teens (SB-ACT) or Asthma Care for Teens
(ACT)
We aim to improve adolescent and childhood asthma symptoms through innovative community-based programs. Our newest program is an adolescent asthma care program in urban schools. This program is focusing on targeting urban teens in secondary schools in an effort to improve medication adherence and reducing asthma morbidity in urban teens with persistent asthma. Our target audience includes urban families, physicians, community members, and researchers. We are looking for a logo to use on our flyers, handouts, presentations, etc.
We are open to suggestions!!! We are looking for something unique and something that appeals to urban teenagers (not childish), but is also sophisticated enough to use with medical professionals. Some words we brainstormed that we would like the logo to convey are: independence (autonomy, responsibility), adherence, growth (poise, maturity), active (sports, proactive), community, school, and technology (modern, social media). The goal of our program is for young urban teens with asthma to be healthy and active.
We do like silhouette images. A few ideas we had are having teenagers being active (ACT) by jumping in the air, dunking a basketball, doing a muscle pose, jumping up for a high-give, doing a pyramid, doing a victory pose, etc. Another idea is to have teens standing back-to-back, maybe making the shape of the A in SB-ACT.
While we do asthma research, we do NOT like images with lungs or anything that looks too medical.
