Anthony Catel got their new logo design by running a design contest:
A logo for an open source browser engine
Check out Anthony Catel's Logo design contest…
== Project Description == nidium is an open source new breed of browser engine. The related software are : Google chrome, mozilla firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari. The difference with classical browser is that nidium is focused on "speed and robustness" and mainly used to create applications and games. Our current website is https://www.nidium.com/ (you can see our current logo there. We really want to go to something different, and are planning a complete rebranding). == Target == We're targeting developers and the open source community == Keyword == - new technology - fast / light - powerful - smart - alien technology - outer space - deep sea == Idea == We like the idea of outers pace or deep sea (and nidium being an alien technology).
Other color requirements
Colors we like (but not limited to) : #e6e6e6 #ffcc00 #f5a623
Since nidium is an application, we're planning to use part of the logo as an icon, so it should includes an independent round shaped part. Should fit with the general open source aesthetic—friendly, fun, playful, colorful. Should be something that a developer would want to wear on a t-shirt or on a laptop sticker. Also, we want to have a "mascot" being part of the logo (or the icon). Various idea for the mascot : - An ant (it could be human style, with a body) - A medusa / jellyfish (kind of cute / kawaii) - An Alien (kind of cute / kawaii) - Something related from the outer space You can get inspired by this contest : https://en.99designs.fr/logo-design/contests/create-cool-open-source-project-logo-219415/brief Also, please take your time! We're really looking for a nicely drawn mascot with great details. The idea is to then hire the winner (if possible) to use the mascot in various situation afterward. Thanks!
