What service/product do you offer? The Red Head Hotel is going to be part of a 3 star property here in Tobago, which is in the Caribbean, when finished, and will be THE location on our island for Jazz, Spoken Word/Performance Poetry and other events, that will draw a group of people who one would consider to have sophisticated tastes. As well, the property is located nearby two of the most popular beaches on the island. The name is a take off of my grandmother, who was a redhead herself, but more importantly, it's significance lies more in the fact that we believe that when opened, we will be that rare offering on an island that is starved for more elegant offerings in the entertainment arena. So rarity, "uniqueness", "specialness" would all be terms to use (if only those were all words). Red heads are supposed to be rare. Who are my main competitors? My biggest competitor at present would consist of two places, one, a hotel called, Kariwak, a legendary property on the island, owned by a husband and wife team in their sixties, who have given their lives to their property. They have live entertainment at nights, mainly consisting of people doing covers of other people's songs in sometimes a very Caribbean way. The other competition would be a bar that's about 20 mins away; a long drive on this island. The bar has one or two good nights of entertainment, and could certainly be an alternative to us, depending on the mood you're in on any given night. How do we differ from them? Our entertainment would be focused more on original work from independent artistes from all corners of the performance industry. As well, we intend to invite artistes from other Caribbean islands to come perform as well. The long term goal is to create a legendary spot where independent artistes feel they can come and hone their skills. Barcode's focus seems to be a younger crowd, so "loud" is the order of the day. While we're not excluding young people, we will not have loud music as a regular occurrence. Our atmosphere would be filled with neo soul and smooth grooves and baselines. Who is my audience? I would describe my audience as someone who is slightly tired of mainstream culture, or at least knows that there is something else to be offered, and craves it. He or she is not necessarily interested in clubbing, and would prefer to sit and be entertained. He or she would not mind going out on any given day during the week, but would like to be in by 12, so that he or she can still get a good rest for work the next day. As well, they would prefer to be the star when they go out, rather than the music, which generally takes more priority over them at other spots, and prevents them from being able to engage in comfortable conversation.

What is the overall message/image I wish to portray? I want an air of Caribbean sophistication. What is your slogan or tagline if applicable? I have no slogan, but if I could use it, it would probably be something clumsily along the lines of: "No fries, and where you, not the music, is the star".
