fxtentacle got their new logo design by running a design contest:
LOUD laptop+dragon crest / emblem
Check out fxtentacle's Logo design contest…
I need an over-the-top crest/emblem containing a laptop computer and a dragon. Just to make this explicitly clear: The focus should be first on the laptop, then on the dragon. It's supposed to be too bold / too much, so feel free to go crazy... The logo should ideally be in lime green (a8ff00) and black to be high-contrast on a white background. If you need a third color, purple is allowed. Ideally the logo should be strikingly bold and obvious and have at most 3 distinct colors with as few gradients and shades as possible. An ideal submission would work in a single color (like a stencil), but use two colors for the main emblem and optionally a third color for the decoration. Decoration should be made in a way that I can remove it for lower resolutions but should be very bold, crazy and pretentious to draw attention. The three example images in green/black/purple are copied together from submissions to show what I mean with this paragraph. Grunge and splatter effects might also work well as background decoration (read heart image). Bonus points if: - I can print the logo in 3x3 cm and still see that it's a dragon and a laptop. - The logo also works if I reduce it to one color. I want to put the emblem on top of my usual letterhead as if it were a sticker/stencil. I might even go as far as actually cutting out stickers in the shape and glueing them on top of the envelope. I do not require the emblem to be vector art, but the design should be suitable such that I could hire someone to convert it into a vector stencil. In general I like it when the content extends outside of the emblem shape, such as here: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/989362 or http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/saints-row-iv-logo-600x335.jpg
