Check out Subsurfacegames's Logo design contest…
Games & Recreational
Survive is an open world zombie survival shooter. The idea of the game is what would you do in the zombie apocalypse. You are put in a random house in a huge completely procedurally generated world. You have to explore the world to find the food, water, and guns you will need to survive the zombie horde. Target audience is Male 16-40. For details about all the features in the game please read this blog post: http://www.subsurfacegames.com/BlogPosts.jsp?id=10&Survive-Features
Logo types to explore
If you have any questions about what I am looking for in the design of the logo please don't hesitate to ask! Survive is a very hardcore and serious game and the logo should reflect that, some examples of logos with similar tone are in the SurviveLogoExamples.png I don't want the logo to be simple, it should have some depth. In the first round please try as many different designs as possible and then in the later rounds we can refine them. The logo should look good on any color background because it will be put on top of screenshots of the game with different colors. It should at least be reversible. I like the idea of blood splatter in the logo because the game will have a lot of blood The logo should be horizontal, not square, and look good at the top of a video game box. The logo cant have a bio hazard symbol because it is used in our direct competitions logo(The Dead Linger). So the logo cant look anything like this: http://www.thedeadlinger.com/wp-content/themes/tdl/images/tdllogo_blog.png. If you can use black/white and red while still making it different then the dead linger logo I would prefer that, but if it looks too similar then green would be better.
