How Phillip Smith started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
This logo represents my work as a music producer, dj, and band/artist. The music is influenced by funk, electronic, jazz, minimalism, pop, and Afro-beat. The music is beautiful and melodic, but rhythmic and intense.
The name Butterfly Bombs is meant to represent the polarities in life. The beautiful and the terrifying. The ecstasy and the sorrow.
The logo will be used on albums, posters, websites, business cards, social media.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Entertainment & The Arts
What colors do you want to see in your design?

I like the flower of life geometry and the colors
I like the simplicity and elegance.
I like the neon sign vibe. The nightlife energy.
I like the geometry and color in the dolphin
I like how the letters are all stylized and interesting. I like that there is just stylized text, rather than a logo plus text. Also really like primary colors.
I like how colorful it is, and again I like that there is just stylized text rather than a logo plus text.
These are the logos for other dj/producers. I want to be unique, but also make sense on a page like this.
these are some random band logos. Would my logo make sense on this page?
I'd like the design to be psychedelic but also very clear, and perhaps flat/geometric. I like chrystalline/stained-glass/diamond textures, but I want to be surprised by ideas I hadn't thought of. The words themselves are just as important as the logo....And are possibly all I need. But I love great images too, so if you create a great visual design just make sure that the words have a unique identity when seen without the rest of the logo.
