chadUJ got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Project DNA needs a millenial friendly logo. Help us!

Project DNA is a side project of an umbrella organization called School of Faith. Essentially, we are a Catholic/Christian non profit organization that helps people deepen their faith. Project DNA is an initiative to help Catholics see their spiritual identity composed of three essential elements (hence, our Spiritual DNA). 1. Friendship with Jesus through prayer. 2. Authentic Friendship with others for the sake of others 3. Expansion by inviting others into this way of life. These three components are our DNA. Essentially, the core of Project DNA is trying to infuse a relational component of faith into the Catholic church, where authentic relationships are generally lacking. Especially with younger adults (25-40) Our target audience, as suggested above, is chiefly Catholic. However, Catholic logos generally suck because they're so stuck in the past (my opinion, of course). I don't want this to look like anything that gets a person to think "traditional" or "institutional." I want it to be attractive to a 25-35 year old professional, but it shouldn't look corporate. I need the logo to at least attract people who are drawn to the mystical/spiritual, but wouldn't step into a Catholic church if their life depended on it. Make sense? It should be something that might allure them and have them ask, what is project DNA? The logo should communicate the project DNA is Christian, but it doesn't have to be overt. It should definitely be an attention grabber and a conversation starter. So, here are key concepts I would suggest be taken into account on the rendering of the logo 1. Home-based (Meetings take place in homes) 2. A Movement 3. Multiplication/Growth 4. Personal relationships/friendships 5. OBVIOUSLY, with the name DNA, the helix comes to the forefront of many of our minds. So it would seem obvious to want to include that in the element of the design, which is totally fine and even expected, but we don't want the logo to look like a bio tech company, we want it to look like what our vision communicates. 6. Christ/Christian/Cross 7. This doesn't have to be in there, but some type of Marian symbol or image. There are lots on the internet you can find. I am really open to creativity and imagination here. Outside-the-box ideas are totally welcome!
