infopj8 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Restaurant Logo Design - Rustic, Vintage Design For New Urban Kitchen Restaurant Concept
Check out infopj8's Logo design contest…
Our team will be opening a brand new restaurant concept in Southern California. The restaurant will be called "Flights & Irons Urban Kitchen" We're excited to work on developing a logo that matches our brand and overall concept. We'll explain a little about the actual restaurant concept below and hopefully that will help with the overall design process and understanding how we envision the logo. Please let us know if you have any questions! **----Restaurant Concept----** The restaurant will be named “Flights & Irons Urban Kitchen”. The general concept and the interior of the restaurant will have a very rustic feel to it, and we would like the logo for the restaurant to reflect that. There will be lots of exposed wood throughout the interior of the restaurant, a rustic bar set-up, and a visible open kitchen. A number of the dishes will be served in cast iron skillets. We will also offer various beer flights and small appetizers, served on wooden planks that we would like to include the logo on (i.e. Flights & Irons). We've attached some example images below of similar beer flights and wooden planks we will be using in the restaurant. ----Logo Design Notes---- We envision the logo as something that might come from a branding iron. So it almost appears burnt into the wood....this really follows the rustic feel we're going for. ---> Please see “branding-logo-example” attachments for a visual example. Our goal is to incorporate this logo onto some of our wooden beer flights, as well as the bar and parts of the restaurant interior. We're not looking for anything too modern. More of an aged look, same goes for the text. ----Text For Logo Design---- ** Please see “**flights-and-irons-logo-sketch.jpeg**” for text placement. Please note that the “&” sign show in the example sketch should be much smaller on any submissions. Sorry for the poor drawing! ** The font used for “Flights & Irons” can be different from the “Urban Kitchen” font. The “Flights & Irons” font would be little older or almost faded look to it. “Urban Kitchen” could be a little more modern and easily legible on any background.
Other color requirements
Possible Layouts: **Wooden background with dark text White background with dark grey or dark grey that appears to be lightly fading or worn.
***We would like to have any logo submissions include a version with a wooden background, since exposed wood will be incorporated into the interior of our restaurant so much, we would love to get a good idea of how the logo will look on a wooden surface. Thanks
