3rd design I've used him for. Always a great job
Cubist did a great job and was very responsive to our comments. The logo mascots turned out awesome!
The designer came up with the perfect front cover design and I loved it right away! He really understood the message I wanted to communicate and followed the guidelines. Getting the back cover done took a little longer, but he got the job done.

Who are you known as?
Charleston Ocean Rescue
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are looking to raise awareness and interest in our local Ocean Rescue Lifeguards in Charleston, SC. We are a community of people who deliver a public service as emergency medical responders and ocean rescue extrication. We send a team of competitors to regional and national competitions in lifeguarding ran by the United States Lifeguarding Assoc. as well. We intend to grow this community to educate the public on how to navigate the dangers of open water and grow support for what we do.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Community & Non-Profit
What colors do you want to see in your design?

Please avoid the lifeguard red cross symbol. This logo is for both male and female Ocean rescue professionals. They are incredible athletes and caregivers. We want something we can print and be proud to show off. The colorfulness juxtaposes the symbolism of a skull well for my purposes.
So basically I was thinking a sugar skull that has ocean rescue lifeguard themes...
Brightly colored zinc under the eyes, a simple trident, maybe a weather symbol (lightening, water/waves, sun). Definitely the indian blanket flower found in our dunes here maybe in the eyes?? Maybe some black ray ban shaped sunglasses? Other symbols as options if wanted might be rescue can/fins, a hood up (representing our sun shirts) An all seeing eye to represent vigilance. Subtle anchor as is always associated with nautical everything and small black heart tattoo could represent the medical side. In my mind the Charleston Ocean Rescue is in a circle around the perimeter of design which has a circle around it but that is only my narrow vision.
I know these are a lot of ideas so pick and choose what fits into your own projection of a traditional image turned deviant. Hope this is plenty to go off of. You are the artists, have fun with it! I hope my thoughts haven't overwhelmed you. Thanks for being original. I will be providing feedback daily if this works the way I understand.
