We are building a social media community based on sharing opinions. Users can submit questions, comments, statements, links, pics. And the community can vote on various options created by the author. We want comments to be a big part of the experience too. It's all anonymous. The community self-regulates content. Users can form groups or mash items to see levels of community agreement across multiple issues. The aim is to help people test their views in an open forum. This could be just for the fun of seeing what others think, but it could also be a vehicle for someone to explore their personal identity.
Other color requirements
White, orange, yellow (but flexible)
We have built www.giddyfly.com already, and we plan to evolve the functionality based on user feedback. We're big fans of 'launch & iterate'. This brief is for the look and feel of the site. Ideas on how to arrange the information and the navigation are going to be really important too. The priorities are: - It must be super easy to post / submit. - It must be super easy to respond to a 'giddy' (a posting) - It must be easy to move from one giddy to the next - we're 90% sure that's going to be a feed like for example www.9gag.com but open to ideas. - The navigation must be super simple and consistent. - Mobile first - the layout should be designed for use on a mobile device first, desktop second. We love simplicity and white space. The tone is meant to be whimsical since discussions should cover all topics from serious to quirky. But not in a way that invites people to think it's 4Chan or similar. See the site at www.giddyfly.com
This is a social feed site and we're very aware there are lots and lots of them out there. We want to differentiate by focussing on opinions, and the groups and mash functionality. Also by having a very clean, simple site. No clutter. (I'm assuming 'hosted' means we're hosting it...right?)
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo & hosted website.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
