How nemnm started their logo & hosted website journey
Who are you known as?
My Friend Tommy - The Movie
What’s your company slogan?
The life-changing journey of a real life 40 year old virgin.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
This is a documentary film about our friend Tommy. Tommy is suppressed virgin who still has a curfew with his Christian Korean parents and has never experienced an adulthood. The film entails an epic road trip across the continent for Tommy to discover the adulthood he never had, and find his self-confidence all the while meeting with his celebrity idols for life advice in each city. Tommy has big dreams of being a sportscaster and on-air personality. He has a natural awkward and hilarious quirkiness and every time a camera is on him he is a human highlight reel of comedic gold. The film will be targeted towards younger demographics (males 19-40, females 25-45) especially because of its comedic tone (sometimes similar to Borat and Catfish). With that though, Tommy has a very tough past to unveil and will be fighting to overcome his past traumas so it will be a heartwarming story at its core (despite it's viral and comedic packaging). The film will have an original hip hop soundtrack with some of the biggest up and coming artists to excitingly and comedically contrast Tommy's naive character.
The elements at play are virginity, an epic road trip with friends/adventure, and self-discovery/sexuality/adulthood.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Entertainment & The Arts
What colors do you want to see in your design?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
I was thinking a simplistic entrance to the site with a black background and having a stat in that "3% of Americans over 25 are virgins. There are many millions more worldwide. Tommy is one of them." (in a friendly young font). Once you enter, I was thinking there could be a cartoon of Tommy standing unsure about a path he is about to venture on throughout the website backdrop?
I had the idea of a minimalist cartoonist-like vibe for the site with very exciting content in terms of trailers and other things.
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the logo and hosted website?
The style is between sleek, cartoonish (not too comicy), but professional and minimalist. It displays cartoon versions of all the characters on a winding highway road through America (Toronto, NYC, Miami, Vegas, LA, etc).
Jimdo templates to explore
Right now there is little material that we want to put out since we haven't shot the film yet. I would have the cartoon of the winding road maybe at the top or in the background on a black background. Maybe the first thing you see after is the pitch trailer and the "About" section to the side or above the video, which would say:
“This is a documentary about my friend Tommy. Tommy is a 40 year old virgin. Tommy has been through a lot. He still has a curfew and he’s never been on a date. He has big dreams and is very talented. He’s never experienced adulthood and now finally wants to change everything. This film is about Tommy’s epic quest across the continent to discover the adulthood and self-confidence he never had. There are many others like Tommy out there, but this is his story. At the top of the page (or wherever possible) I would attach the logos and links for our social media. We could have a direct sliding feed of the movie’s instagram sliding across (like the Lil Uzi Vert website below) but a bit smaller? Maybe under the cartoon? Eventually by the end of summer we will have merch so we can say "coming soon".
