Games & Recreational
Deckbound Heroes is a turn-based multiplayer deck-building strategy game
The game is currently being updated to run with a fully 3D-renderd background, with lots of particle effects and dynamic lights. The interface should be clear and consistent. It should be in keeping with the (broadly) modern fantasy theme of the game. See the attached logo for a general suggestion of aesthetic quality/feel -- you don't have to follow this, but it might be a starting point.
Attached are examples of the interface in use. It can also be seen (in the old version of the game) in the following video: https://youtu.be/vRJ8E011b5A?t=19m43s Note: it’s important that the cards in the player’s and opponent’s hand are not generally visible (they will pop up and down from the bottom of the screen as per the attached mockups). The completed design should provide high quality templates in Illustrator or Photoshop to allow the elements to be modified and adjusted. Any text needs to be rendered with a standard font, without effects (as this will be rendered in game). Please only include text on an “example text” layer or group. The only exception to this should be large title text -- e.g. "YOUR TURN", "YOU WIN" and so on -- these can be pre-rendered if required I have also attached the Deckbound Heroes logo, which can be used as a general aesthetic style/quality guide. The interface contains the following components: Main Game view - Rounds counter (may go up to 9 rounds total) - Turn label (text changes) - End Turn & cancel buttons - Action points (normally 2, but can be up to 5) >>> are used during course of a turn - Health >> normally between 0 and 15 (but will go negative and could go up to 100+) - Ability panel >>> lists abilities with cooldown status (either green or a number with) >>> clicking or hovering an ability shows a button and sometimes further information (an ability description panel) >>> can be shown or hidden (for either player or opponent Card stack >>> stack of 1-9 cards, each with 0-3 abilities >>> most abilities are played from the abilities panel, but some require selecting a specific card (hovering/clicking the cards would pop them up, allowing a specific card to be selected) - Outpost panels >>> shown when clicking on the outposts on the map >>> contain a list of abilities for the outpost >>> show outpost stats (health, durability) >>> can show other information depending on the outpost type - End-of-round popup >>> centre-screen overlay to show the current round progress and whether you won or lost the round, with a "continue" button to carry on to the next round - End-of-game popup >>> centre-screen overlay to show who won/lost the game, with a button to "quit to launcher" Pause Menu >>> centre-screen overlays that shows pause with some basic options "abandon game", "settings", "continue" Large notifiers >>> e.g. “your turn” notifier appears large and full screen Additional re-usable interface components should be provided for: - pop-up information panels - badges and icons - buttons - status boxes
What to avoid

The only exception to this should be large title text -- e.g. "YOUR TURN", "YOU WIN" and so on -- these can be pre-rendered if required
