ODEA's design represented an AMG Christmas perfectly! It was relevant, professional, and well-designed.

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
KIYO dreams of a world in which ALL children enjoy equal opportunities, develop themselves fully and get the chance to take their lives in their own hands.
KIYO stands for 'Kids & Youth'. ALL kids and youth, girls and boys. KIYO is a Belgian NGO for development cooperation that gives priority attention to the most vulnerable children who are least able to protect themselves. Starting from the International Children's Rights Convention, KIYO wants to engage everyone for the realization of the rights of the child.
In order to get there, KIYO creates awareness about the existence of children's rights and provides expertise in making children's rights in our countries of intervention.
Children's rights are universal and therefore apply to everyone and everywhere.
Children's rights are inalienable and cannot be taken away, for example from child soldiers or children in conflict with the law.
Children's rights are indivisible, which means that all rights are equally important and a holistic approach is important.
In all its interventions, through our partners, KIYO wants to create a positive evolution within 3 different dimensions:
The 4 basic principles of the child rights committee that guarantee the quality of realisation of all rights.
The 5 action domains of KIYO within the rights based approach
The 9 quality indicators of KIYO within her interventions
Our 3 dimensions are:
4 basic principles
- The right to survive, to live and to develop
- In the best interest of the child
5 action domains
- Direct services
- Capacity building
- Awareness raising
9 Quality indicators
- Risk management
- Knowledge exchange
- Synergy – together stronger
- Rights based approach
- Participation of beneficiaries
- Gender equality
- Sustainable environment
- Result based management
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are looking for a visualisation that explains our 3 dimensions approach in a simple & graphic way.
It will be used to explain the DNA, the identity, the strategy of our organisation. The visual will be mainly used on our website on the "who-we-are" and "our approach" page but also in some of our print communications (i.e. flyers, brochures, annual report, powerpoints...) to explain to our readers/followers how our organisation works (our strategy).
Ideally the visualisation is made in 2 layers:
- first (basic) layer: visualising the 3 main dimensions (4 Principles, 5 action domains and 9 quality indicators): for basic prints or short elevator pitches and as the first layer of an interactive visualisation on our website were each dimension can be clicked on to go to the second layer for more details.
- second layer: visualising/listing the actual 4 principles, 5 action domains and 9 quality indicators
The visual needs to be simple, self-explanatory & the shapes can be used to write the key words and be attractive to click further (when used on website) for more text/explanation. It would need to be a 2D/3D visual (I mean 3D in a 2D format) so it can be use on print as well.
Some of our own ideas to play with:
- 3 shape Molecule structure (with 4-5-9 sub molecules)
- 3 Strangled DNA shapes (with 4-5-9 sub DNA chains)
- 3 axes (like in mathematical graphs)
- The 3 round balls of the “O” of our KIYO logo (with the little rounds coming out)
1st layer: 3 shape-visual
2nd layer: roll-out or fall-out or drop-down or click further…in 3 directions to 4 shapes, 5 shapes and 9 shapes according to the 4P, 5A and 9Q mentioned above
Style: simple, abstract, self-explanatory, modern, youthful (our main target group are youngsters 15-18y old),…
The key-words need to be easily written/processed in the drawing.
As we are a non-profit organisation, our budget is limited. Please keep it simple!!
Make it standard in English but it may be possible (not sure yet) that we need to translate it afterwards also in Dutch and French. It would be nice if you can design it in such a way that we can easily modify the text ourselves afterwards if needed.
For example ideas see attachment
We prefer it to be coherent with our current house style:
