Games & Recreational
At its core, MOAR is a race that pits a 2-person team against other teams, nature, obstacles and themselves. It is Tough Mudder - meets - Survivor - meets US military training. Participants must literally be prepared for anything - running, swimming, biking, climbing, thinking their way through mazes, Doing a CrossFit workout, solving challenges, navigating terrain and obstacles (both man-made and natural). The only way to train for a MOAR race is to be prepared for anything. The participants don't know the exact time or the location of the event until they are alerted anytime after midnight on the day of the event. Only after arriving on site do the participants fully learn the extent of the competition for the day. To learn more about MOAR visit the website at www.DoMOAR.com and check out our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MOARRace. A MOAR Season starts in September. There are five different events with a sixth event serving as the Championship. The top three teams from each of the five events throughout the year get invited to compete in the Championship for a chance to win $10,000.
What's your vision?
My vision is to have a new and unique MOAR Season poster designed for each year. 2016 is the Inaugural Season and I would like to set the tradition of publishing a poster to advertise, promote and commemorate the event. The poster should capture the spirit of MOAR. I would like the poster to be detail rich (not minimalist or a ton of white space). I would like the poster to feel like a retro poster. Some of words to create the appropriate imagery are: - overcoming adversity, preparedness, competition, Perseverance, Challenging, Resourceful, Intellectual, Teamwork
Thank you to everyone who submitted a design already and messaged me with questions. I wanted to provide more insight into what we are looking for. 1. The poster orientation should be Portrait 2. We would like the poster to contain all drawing imagery, ie. no photos or photography 3. The style of the poster should have a "Retro" or "Art Deco" feel. I am attaching a few files to illustrate the "feel" of the poster in terms of muted colors, style, etc. 4. Our race is designed to test folks on their physical and mental abilities. As such participants need to be prepared for literally ANY challenge - Rock Climbing, Running, Swimming, Biking, Weight Lifting, CrossFit, Survival Skills, etc. As such the imagery should depict that. Parts of the event will happen in the darkness of the early morning, others during the middle of the day. Maybe a poster that starts in a forest or wooded area with the moon showing that fades into a daytime scene that could be a 2-person team with backpacks on running down a long stretch of road, or swimming or biking. I hope this helps! Update - Also, many designs feature the words - Physical, Mental, etc. Instead of that text we would like to go in a different direction, using the different kinds of literary conflict - Man Vs. Man, Man Vs. Self and Man Vs. Nature. We won't be using the 4th Literary Conflict (Man Vs. Society). As such, a poster using the first three conflicts and depicting those conflicts would be interesting. Lastly, no website or contact info should be listed on the poster.
