What's your vision?
We need a book cover designed for a novel titled: Protecting Innocence. A brief synopsis: Two parents are trying to hide their recent divorce from their daughter (Innocence) while she's away at college. When their daughter come's home for a summer vacation, the two recent divorcees are forced to live with each other and feign a happy matrimony all for the sake of protecting Innocence who, as it turns out, just might have some secrets of her own. This is a novel in the Romance/Comedy genre that tries in a light-hearted, way, to address many of the complex issues surrounding marriage and divorce and ultimately begs the questions: What is Marriage? What really makes two people married? And conversely, what really makes two people divorced? The book touches on challenging issues of infidelity from both husband and wife drawing a lot of its back story from the past which helps to explain their complex present as the two divorcees search for the meaning of love and happiness and throughout the comical process of trying to keep a secret from their only child, discover the love they never knew they had. This novel is primarily directed towards an African-American female audience between the ages of 30-55. We would like for the design to be simple and eye-catching with a hint towards it's whimsical side. That being said, some of the content in the book is provocative and steamy and is not intended for younger audiences so we don't want the cover to be too misleading. Other than that, we're open to creative suggestion. Thanks in advance. Caje Press.
Again, the demographic is: African-American women between the ages of 30-55. This book will only be distributed digitally via kindle, nook, ipad and other e-reading application. We're not focusing on print at this time but would love to have a format available for print if needed in the future. P.S. The name of the Author is Ralph Lashley.
