recklesstx got their new product label by running a design contest:
Design a label for our sweet, but spicy Mango Habanero Sauce
Check out recklesstx's Product label contest…
Other color requirements
The Mango Habanero hot sauce is bright orange; almost the color of a Push-Up ice cream pop, so the label should reflect those colors in some way.
We call our mango habanero sauce - Solar Sauce. It's slightly spicy and bright like the sun.
Description of the product
Our Solar Sauce (mango habanero) is delicious and it is served to add to every sandwich and taco on our menu. It is slightly sweet with a spicy kick and is very popular for those putting it on their carnitas, brisket or chicken tinga tacos.
Description of the product target audience
We operate a small sandwich shop in Dallas, Texas near Love Field airport serving burgers, chicken sandwiches, lobster rolls, mahi sandwiches, tacos and salads. The Solar Sauce is a side that people add to and put on their sandwiches and tacos. It is available to all ages, but is primarily requested by adult men wanting to add a little kick to their meal.
We want to start bottling our Solar Sauce. We have a couple of other sauces that will be labeled as well and have a similar sauce. We will then serve our Solar Sauce to our customers in a small 5 oz bottle and will also offer these bottles for sale. I want the label be casual and fun, but loud and "in your face". Something that people would look at, know immediately what it is and be enticed to buy it. The label and fonts can be cartoonish, comic-book style or a fancy, BBQ restaurant look. The front will contain the main logo, the back will be less important with a written description of what the sauce is and what is in it.
What to avoid
I want this to be fun and festive, not old and boring. We are not marketing a law firm, but trying to create a brand for the sauce.
Small 5 oz bottle. It will be similar to a typical tabasco bottle.
