Case study was based on clients need to show creativity and competence. The client expressed that they wanted a logo that was not cliche. They also wanted a muted color palette. Cogent uses tools that are often not used in younger sectors of education and wanted to convey the fact that they were the support for administrators with the use of strategic planning frameworks.
My solution was a robust font that was friendly to show their boldness while conveying their open communication style to provide support. The brandmark was three drops with three arrows pointing toward the center. Each set of drop and arrow represented a sector: Cogent, Administrators and administrators constituents. The overall concept was communication, support and unity toward a shared goal. The design of the brandmark was meant to have the hidden gem of being an abstract C shape to represent Cogent.
