Animal & Pet
We are a zoo.
What's your vision?
We need a new design for our informative panels. The size of our current panels is 77cm of width x 63cm of height; we believe this is a good size, but we wouldn't mind if it was a bit bigger. Very important: we want a template, text-editable document/design, since we want the same design for all the different species, but each one has different text. At the zoo there needs to be a panel with the general information of each species. Invariably, this panel will show: the scientific classification of the species, its distribution, habitat, characteristics, behavior, reproduction habits, food habits and conservation status. But there has to be one for the lion, another one for the orang utan, another one for the giraffe... etc. That is why we need it to be editable. Furthermore, each one of these panels needs to include a map, on which we would mark the distribution of the species; and the IUCN Red List, on which we would mark the conservation status of the species; plus room for a picture of the animal. And everything has to be both in Spanish and in English; we leave it up to the designers how they would do this. (You can see an example of all this in the documents attached.) We are looking for a nice, serious, design, with a typefont that is easy to read, fluent, on a soft background; attractive, but not too playful. It must be an educative panel. We are planning on producing more panels for the exhibits, apart from the general ones, so I guess that we could work on beyond this particular contest with the designers interested.
I'm attaching an example -not to be followed- of our current posters, and also an example of the texts (English and Spanish) that need to go on the panels.
