We're looking for an outstanding t-shirt design intended to spread awareness about dogs in shelters and rescues in need of a new home.
I'm interested in several design variations for this project so multiple winners is a definite possibility.
What is required:
- A dachshund
You have relatively free hands to come up with an interesting concept. We do however have some preferences and thoughts that I'll outline here.
One idea we were quite fond of is a design showing a dachshund hanging on to a lifebuoy. This pic would be a great basis:
If you just replace her hands with a buoy so it appears the dachshund is hanging from the buoy. We dachshund people love to see those 'little big' paws holding on to something like that.
I do not think it's a good idea to use a photo, but rather some an illustration or a 'drawing' based on a photo. in fact I think I'll be more likely to choose a design that doesn't use an actual photo.
The dog should look happy/smiling in a goofy sort of way, but not too silly.
The illustration of the dachshund we'd prefer in a true-to-life style - not a caricature or cartoon style. But it's not set in stone.
The style should be quite modern - cool, but not too youthful.
In terms of colors, we have no definitive preferences, but I'd describe the colors that we will prefer as warm, distinct and solid. You can use multiple colors, but not too many.
Here are a few examples that I think have some good elements:
- I love the colors and what to me looks like contrasting colors. Or at least colors that go very well together
- The 'broken' circle is appealing and ties things nicely together
- The font is great

http://99designs.com/t-shirt-design…tries/200A completely different direction (as mentioned I'm likely to choose more than one winner and would be happy getting two or more completely different styles) Nice colors, warm like the message. Quite stylish 'background' without being too much.
I noted that our t-shirt is for both men and women, but I have a feeling that 95% of our buyers will be female, so we think a feminine slant is probably not a bad idea.
The t-shirt will only have print on the front side.
Text: Save a life - rescue a dachshund. The text however should be replaceable so probably not a good idea to make the design dependent on this exact text.
We also had an idea to put a QR code somewhere on the t-shirt so people could get more information about rescuing a dog, might work as long as it doesn't take too much away from the design. Those things are quite ugly :)
