What's your vision?
Design should fit on the back, around shoulders, sleeves, and chest. "Simple but elegant not too simple" Norse Symbol "collage" back Tattoo You can use sonsofvikings dot com for definitions (*) = Must have items in overall conceptual drawing; rest to be worked on later unless you have time to finish the rest in time for contest. I will work with winner for rest of body art. Back tattoo should be symmetrical. i.e. same as left as right just opposite or centered if only one of. *(upper back) - Tree of Life (Yggdrasil) roots should have Web of Wryd entwined in there. Should have squirrel somewhere in trunk maybe in a knothole. Squirrel has meaning. Squirrel - (Ratatosk) * Dragon/Serpent - never-ending circular serpent eating at roots of tree as a circle around the tree of life symbol's circle. * (center of Chest) Helm of Awe - Protection of soul * Triquetra - my belief life has occurred before -reincarnation Center top of spine back Optional additions below should not cover up any of the above. This will be a total body design done in stages starting with the above asterisk items first and foremost. Below is extra credit but Good work on above will be primary consideration. Egvisir (Odin's Compass) represents my inner search for knowledge and my fated purpose in life Wolf "Symbol" (One light on left shoulder and one dark on right shoulder incorporated into designs???) similar to yin and yang with a circle and two wolf heads opposite one light and one dark representing my side to friends and my side to enemies in life. * can be incorporated into other symbols as well as seperate yin/yang design Valknut (Slain Warrior) - represents my death (honorably retired US Navy (seafarer)) maybe include symbol in well of Urd? or in top branches of tree? Hammer symbol would be more of a blessing symbol than weapon. Design should fit on the back, around shoulders, sleeves, and chest. I have a 48" chest in jacket size if that helps. I CAN put differrent aspects of design on differrent parts of the body if that makes more sense in tattoo placement. i.e. Helm of Awe center of Chest, tree on back, wolf on left and right shoulder, triquetra center spine top of Tree of Life, etc. Anything without an asterisk is optional. Good work with only required items is better than all work but plain. I'd like the advice from those with serious religous experience in the tattoo industry on this and all advice is welcome. Thanks and good luck!
Contact me all you want via email for extra information if needed. Looking for tattoo that might appeal to and be for anyone. I am Honorably Retired US Navy Logistician (Supplies/Stores) Chief Petty Officer, Submarine and Surface Warfare qualified, in service Mar 1991-2011. Use the book by Neil Gaiman for a more detailed background of symbols and players of "Norse Mythology" if you want to get into depth knowledge about the subject. All collage does not have to be literally connected. P.S. BACK TATTOO can be 1000-2000 dollar tattoo if encompassing all tattoos. Total approximate budget for all would ideally be $2000 but can be more IF design is good enough and I can space it out over a year or two. Just need a starting point. Option of color in later years would be a plus but not necessary for this contest. If design appeals to me, no cost will stand in my way but trying to consider my budget of course.
