After having considered doing a pixelated background, I realized that it would not scale well when reduced in size. Instead, I decided on using four bold stripes that lead your eye from the upper left-hand corner (where most cultures look first when viewing an image) to the name of the company along the bottom.
I have a few iterations that I have been working on where the foreground is mountains or an ocean, but ultimately, I think the leading lines within the cityscape work best to draw the viewer’s eye around the logo.")
